Ballroom Oasis Moondog Brewery, Richmond
Each wedding day always has it’s own story, then there’s the story behind the wedding of how the Bride and Groom met. For Laura and Andre that story culminated in one of the most heartfelt and fun weddings I think I’ve ever attended at the Moondog Brewery in Richmond. I won’t go into the story because it is their story but I will say it finishes with them and a full room of their closest friends and family dancing to Pennywhistle by Augie March, and that is one of my favourite songs ever and about one of the coolest things I’ve seen happen at a wedding.
The day started pretty quietly in the morning with Andre as he relaxed into the day. We spent some time walking around the park behind their house and took some photos and chatted about music and film.
I then made my way over to Laura as she was preparing with her close friends and family in Richmond. It was crazy just how relaxed everyone was and just how welcomed I was into the house. I was greeted with food and drink and relaxed with everyone for a while as Laura prepared.
The Ballroom Oasis at Moondog Brewery is such a fantastic place for a wedding and for urban wedding photography. Following the fun, upbeat and loving wedding ceremony we headed out into the back streets of Richmond for some photos. Unfortunately, light misty rain turned into heavy rain and we had to cut the photoshoot short. Thankfully we made up for it with a trip to the Skipping Girl Vinegar sign in Richmond once the sun went down.
A huge thank you to Laura and Andre for having me there on your big day!
