Immerse is one of those venues where the setting does a lot of the work. Rolling vineyard views, a glass-backed chapel, golden-hour light across open hills. I just make sure we’re in the right spot when it hits.
A winery wedding done properly.
Immerse is a boutique winery and wedding venue in Yering, about an hour northeast of Melbourne. It’s genuinely one of the most complete wedding venues in the Yarra Valley, with a beautiful chapel, multiple reception spaces, award-winning food and wine, and on-site accommodation so guests can stay the night.
What that means photographically is that everything happens in one place. The getting-ready shots, the ceremony, the vineyard portraits, the reception, the late-night dancing. You’re never packing into cars and moving locations. The day flows, and when the day flows, the photographs are better.
The chapel is the centrepiece. Full glass windows behind the altar look out across the vines. On a clear day the light that comes through is unlike anything in a built venue. At golden hour, the vineyard rows cast long shadows across the hills and the whole property turns a shade of amber that I genuinely look forward to every time I’m there.

1548 Melba Hwy, Yering VIC 3770. Around one hour northeast of Melbourne CBD.
Ceremony Spaces
Glass-backed chapel with vineyard views. Outdoor lawn ceremonies also available.
Portrait Spots
Vineyard rows, the love swing, rose gardens, the chapel exterior, and open hillside. Enough variety for a full portrait session without leaving the grounds.
Light
The chapel gets beautiful afternoon sun through the glass. Golden hour across the vines is exceptional, especially in autumn and early winter.
Season
Stunning year round. Autumn gives you colour in the vines. Summer evenings are warm and golden. Winter mist over the hills is something special.

Golden hour at Immerse is
something I genuinely look forward to.
I’m Matt. I’ve been photographing weddings across Melbourne and the Yarra Valley since 2014. Immerse is one of those venues I genuinely look forward to, because the light changes so dramatically across the day and there’s always a moment in the late afternoon when the vineyard turns golden and everything just works.
I shoot mostly documentary style, staying out of the way and letting the day happen naturally. When it’s time for your portrait session I’ll find the best light on the property, give you some gentle direction, and then get out of the way and let you be yourselves. That’s when I get the shots I’m proudest of.
One practical note: if your wedding is at Immerse and you have any flexibility in your timeline, try to schedule your portrait session for the hour before sunset. The vineyard at golden hour at Immerse is genuinely one of the best portrait settings in the Yarra Valley.
